Duckhams celebrates racing success

Duckhams has celebrated success as drivers Adam Smalley and Shaun Balfe add to Silver-Am title with overall third place in the British GT Championship.

Duckhams drivers Adam Smalley and Shaun Balfe have clinched third place in the overall GT3 standards at the end of the 2024 British GT Championship. The team had already secured the British GT Silver-Am title at Snetterton earlier in the season, with two rounds to spare.

Their performance throughout the season has included seven class victories in nine races, the Silver-Am title, and third overall in the GT3 Drivers’ standings in the team’s first season in the British GT Championship. For Adam Smalley, it is another accolade to add to his list of motorsport achievements, including winning the Porsche Carrera Cup GB 2023.

Adam commented: “Overall, it has been an amazing season. We would have liked to have gone out with a good result, but that was out of everyone’s control. The goal was the overall title going into the last round and, although we mathematically could have won it, it would have required a lot of luck on our side, so realistically the aim was to maintain that top three in the overall championship.

“To win seven out of nine Silver-Am races is brilliant. I’m made up with how the year has gone and I couldn’t have asked for much better in my debut year. Shaun has done a mega job all season, and the guys at Garage 59 have been great, so a big thank you to everyone. I also have to thank my sponsors for all their support this year. I couldn’t have done it without them.”

Duckhams and motorsports have been synonymous with each other during the brand’s 125-year legacy. This legacy began with the land-speed record in 1948 and extends to numerous F1, BTCC, British GT, Formula Ford, and BRIC Superbikes championships with celebrated drivers of yesteryear like Colin Chapman, Ayrton Senna, James Hunt, John Surtees and current champions like Dan Cammish, Shaun Balfe, Adam Smalley and Daryl DeLeon.

Duckhams Chief Marketing Officer, Rajat Moitra said: “A great British engine oil brand, Duckhams has an iconic legacy of powering champions in motorsports throughout our 125-year history. Our product performance is proven both on the track and on the road and stands the test of time in racing and everyday driving alike yesterday, today and tomorrow. Here’s to winning together for the next 125 years!”
