CP introduces ‘Pit Stop Challenge’ to Irish market

Chicago Pneumatic has marked its appearance at a prominent trade show in Northern Ireland by introducing its ‘Pit Stop Challenge’ to the Irish market for the first time.

Fyfes, a major automotive parts supplier that boasts many branches in Northern Ireland, was celebrating its 100 year anniversary by hosting a three evening trade show for its end user customer base.

As the premier air tools supplier to the group, CP – along with many other key supplier partners – celebrated this centenary event by taking a stand at the show and the company was thrilled with the response it received from the visitors in attendance.

Indeed the company has reported that it sold out of its CP7732 ½” wrench at the event, while its Classic range, including old favourites like the CP734 H impact wrench, Vehicle Service range and workshop equipment portfolio were also on show.

As has been seen from its success at the MECHANEX trade shows throughout the UK, the Pit Stop Challenge proved a real crowd-pleaser during its first outing in Ireland, with participants required to remove a car wheel from the hub, touch it to the floor and put it back on the hub in the fastest timing using CP’s CP8848 cordless impact wrench.

The competition proved so competitive that one entrant – Matthew McCracken – came back to the show for a second evening, just so he could have a go at beating his original time. Having clocked 24.18 on his first attempt, Matthew successfully surpassed this by finishing the challenge in 22.38 seconds on his follow-up attempt. The effort wasn’t wasted either, as he bagged himself a fantastic CP7736 tool for his troubles.

The Pit Stop Challenge will be taking place at both of the remaining MECHANEX exhibitions this year (Donington Park – Oct 6/7 and Sandown Park – 10/11 Nov), with winners able to bag themselves a brilliant prize.
