Four-time World Speedway champion Greg Hancock is once again being supported by NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd as he bids for a fifth title.
The ignition specialist is backing the 46-year-old current champion as well as two more exciting riders competing in the 2017 FIM Speedway Grand Prix season.
For the first time NGK is supporting ninth-ranked Slovenian Matej Zagar (33) and Russian Emil Sayfutdinov (27), who has previously finished third in the championship.
NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd Marketing Manager Mark Hallam said: “We are delighted to announce that we will be continuing our long-standing support of Greg as he attempts to retain his title this year as well as Matej and Emil who I am sure will be competing alongside him at the top of the leader board.
“As a company, we are a long-time supporter of Speedway which is a real family sport that boasts a big following amongst our customers and the public, many of whose motorcycles and cars are fitted with our components.
“All three riders will feature the new NGK motorsport logos on their racing leathers which we are sure will attract a lot of attention at all the Grand Prix this season, both trackside, and on television where they will once again be broadcast by BT Sport.”
Last season American Hancock became one of the top six riders of all time in terms of world title victories when he joined fellow four-time winners New Zealand’s Barry Briggs and Denmark’s Hans Nielsen and will be looking to improve on that position this season which begins on Saturday, April 29, in Krsko, in Matej Zagar’s Slovenian homeland and finishes in Melbourne, Australia in October.
