Philips launches new high performance headlight bulbs

For nearly a century, Philips Automotive has been dedicated to providing best in-class lighting solutions in the Aftermarket and Original Equipment Manufacturer and Supplier (OEM, OES) markets. One out of every three cars around the world comes equipped with Philips lamps. September has seen the launch of three new bulbs all of which boast brighter light and therefore better visibility and safer driving.

RacingVision – Bringing motorsport performance to the road driver

Passionate drivers get ready! RacingVision headlight bulbs provide up to 150% brighter light (hotspot area) compared to the minimum legal standard, for better visibility and greater contrast. Drivers have more time to react to situations on the road, making their driving experience safer and more enjoyable.

RacingVision brings you road-legal rally performance. The headlight bulbs increase the pleasure of driving in all situations due to the superior performance of their beams. Drivers see further and with greater contrast, even in the oncoming glare from other cars.

The specific colour temperature (up to 3500 Kelvin) of RacingVision also help drivers’ eyes focus better. Drivers can identify dangerous situations faster, giving themselves more time to react.

RacingVision bulbs are among the brightest, thanks to their optimized high precision filament geometry, up to 13 bars of high pressure gas filled, high quality UV quartz glass with chrome coating. They set a new standard in automotive lighting. Tested to the most stringent ECE specifications and meeting ISO and QSO certifications, this is quality that drivers can trust.philips-white-vision

 Philips Xenon WhiteVision gen2

The Philips Xenon WhiteVision gen2 has a crisp, pure and intense white colour. With a colour temperature of up to 5,000 Kelvin, the same as LED daytime driving lights, the lights blend in perfectly with each other, giving cars a personalized and designer look. To top off their aesthetic appeal, these bulbs also provide superior road visibility for a safer and more exciting drive.

The powerful beams produce uniform light on the road ahead without dazzling oncoming traffic. They provide 120% more vision compared to the minimum legal standard and are still legal for the road. Drivers benefit from greater contrast and better reflection from objects and signs, aiding concentration and alertness.

Philips Xenon WhiteVision gen2 bulbs are made with UV-Quartz glass (stronger than hard glass) and have an anti-UV coating. The lamps are therefore highly resistant to severe thermal shock and vibrations, with no explosion risk. And, thanks to their capacity for increased pressure inside the lamp, they produce a more powerful light, making them a match without fault for LEDs and a driver’s companion for enhanced vision.

Pushing light emission to the limit, Philips Xenon X-tremeVision gen2 headlight bulbs put safety first. Engineered using state-of-the-art xenon technology, the spectral composition of the emitted light is comfortable for the eye, and the light performance provides maximum visibility and therefore safety. Drivers can be confident that they can see and be seen, for a brighter, more comfortable drive.

Studies have shown that xenon automotive lighting helps drivers to concentrate on the road and to distinguish obstacles and signs much faster than with traditional lamps. Highlighting every bump, obstacle, road junction or curve, Philips Xenon X-tremeVision gen2 is adapted to the eye’s natural sensitivity, without dazzling oncoming traffic. The headlight bulbs also benefit from precise arc-bending technology, aligned at 150-350µm, directing the light exactly where you need it on the road ahead. With 150% more vision, compared to the minimum legal standard, drivers see objects sooner and their peripheral vision is increased. They therefore have more time to react and greater possibility to prevent accidents.
