Following claims from AS - a Spanish-based exhausts and emissions component supplier - that Klarius has incorrectly used its Type Approval number on a component recently sourced in the UK (see full story here), Klarius has offered an 'open invitation' for suppliers, distributors and garages to visit the company's production facilities.

In a further development to the 'is it/isn't it' Type Approval saga surrounding Klarius (full story here), a second well-known supplier has now come forward - this time with claims that the company has incorrectly used its Type Approval numbers on a product recently purchased from an aftermarket distributor.

Exhausts and emissions product supplier, Klarius, has today issued the following statement regarding the sale of its range of Type Approved Catalytic Converters. It said:

Klarius has started the New Year by re-introducing a large portion of the company’s extensive catalogue of premium quality Catalytic Converters. The list of part numbers includes around 70% of the company’s most popular products, all manufactured in the UK and fully type-approved.

It has come to the attention of the IAAF that Klarius has, in the past week, conducted an audit and internal review of its catalytic convertors - both in production and stock in its warehouse.
The company has since issued the following statement:
‘As a result of discovering some administrative anomalies we have immediately suspended all production and deliveries of Type Approved converters while we implement the appropriate corrective actions.
