PEUGEOT 308 – INTERMITTENT ENGINE WARNING LAMP

FAULT:
A customer’s 2014 Peugeot 308 2.0 (diesel) is suffering from an intermittent illumination of the engine warning lamp, with trouble code ‘P0495’ stored. We have checked the engine coolant blower motor control module and the blower motor itself, but have been unable to find any fault.

FIX:
This problem not only affects the 2.0 diesel model, but also the 1.6 diesel. The cause of the problem is overheating from the engine coolant blower motor control module (located in the engine coolant blower motor cowling) because of a lack of air flow.

Remove the engine coolant blower motor and engine coolant blower motor control module. Drill four 8mm holes in the blower motor cowling to allow cooling air to circulate. Erase the trouble code and road test the vehicle to confirm the fault is fixed.
