Gott celebrates 35 years on the clock with charity campaign

North East garage equipment supplier Gott Technical Services is celebrating its 35th year in business by recruiting 35 individuals to be part of its charity heroes campaign.

Gott is calling out for a team of fundraisers to each take on one charitable act for their own chosen cause to put as much as possible back into the community.

People who make the pledge to be one of Gott’s charity heroes will have their efforts promoted through Gott’s website, newsletter and via social media.

Gott Technical Services director, Ian Gott said: “Being in business for 35 years has exceeded our expectations and we thought what better way to celebrate than by giving something back. Our business has always had a robust CSR strategy and we are now going full throttle to raise as much money as possible for numerous charities.

“Whether people want to enter as a group or individually we’re looking for committed members of the motor industry or simply friends of our business who are keen to raise funds for a good cause. So if you think you have what it takes, please get in touch.”

The Morpeth-based second-generation family business Gott has seen steady growth and excellent staff retention over the years, which it puts down to focusing on its servicing and breakdown response division during the recession – and is now seeing customers starting to re-invest back into new garage equipment.

The past few years has also seen Gott move up a gear, taking the company forward into the Scottish and Cumbrian marketplaces, having secured numerous contracts including Glasgow’s newest Nissan dealership.

Gott has also invested heavily in staff training and is reviewing and streamlining job roles to play to individuals’ strengths within the business and develop new skills sets amongst its people.

Brenna Blades is one member of the team who is evolving her current customer services role to become a customer care ambassador, which will see her responsible for overseeing the entire customer journey through the supply chain.

Ian Gott added: “I think it’s encouraging to see a garage equipment firm reacting well following such tough economic times when the motor trade has been low. A key success of Gott is our experienced staff and upskilling them to cover all areas of service, including inspection, servicing, and repair of garage equipment. Equipment demonstrations and service knowledge on tap are another part of our renowned customer service approach.

“In addition to this we have a number of exciting new projects on the horizon including involvement with emerging low emission and electric vehicle technology. So it’s suffice to say our 35th year could be our biggest yet.”
