Certas Energy opens its doors to customers

Certas Energy, one of the largest distributors of fuel and lubricants in Britain, is pleased to open its doors to existing and prospective customers and local businesses to tour and learn more about the facilities at the company’s Livingston warehouse in West Lothian on October 22nd.

Certas is responsible for several market-leading brands including Shell, Castrol, Gulf, Valvoline and Total, which meet the requirements of every major sector, including agricultural, automotive, commercial, manufacturing, industrial, haulage, marine and aviation.

The 33,000 sq ft hub has been opened just under a year and as well as a huge warehouse facility, the new site features a specifically designed tank farm, with a 150,000 litre storage capacity, as well as holding in excess of 2000 pallets.

Andrew Salton General Manager, Certas Energy North commented: “We will be demonstrating and guiding our visitors through the bulk facilities that we offer at our new depot, from the layout, the set-up of the tanks, the thought process and the involvement of some of the biggest names in the lubricant market.

“Thanks to dealing with two of the largest lubricant brands in the world, Certas have a quality control process like no other. Because the quality standards of manufacturers and producers are naturally extremely high, distribution deals of this sort do not go ahead unless you have a proven track record. Perhaps the most important part of our operations is our lubricant farm; we went to one of the best fuel tank manufacturers in the UK – the Blakes Group – who were invaluable in helping us achieve our goals. The unique design and set-up of the tanks ensures we eliminate contamination, as well as having total control of oil in/out of the tanks with millilitre accuracy.”
