Autopromotec 2015 – What’s in store?

Autopromotec 2015, which takes place in Bologna, Italy (May 20th – 24th) gives all corners of the global aftermarket the opportunity to rub shoulders with one another.

The Italian show’s stock has risen sharply in recent times, thanks in large part to the organiser’s decision to opt away from its original standing as a tyre-specialist exhibition and to instead encourage participation from other key sectors and servicing groups.

Its popularity is evidenced by pre-show figures that report a 10% increase in exhibitors from 2013’s outing and a larger attendance from international companies. This spells good news for garage visitors, at home and from abroad, as they’ll have a greater spread of relevant companies on hand and lots more to see.

As with all Autopromotec offerings, the show’s content is built around a specific theme, this year’s focusing on the topical subject of connected cars/vehicle telematics and the challenges/opportunities this presents for the aftermarket.

One of the highlights of the show promises to be the AutopromotecEDU, a discussion event that features in-depth debate about current aftermarket topics. IAAM15, which is scheduled on the show’s second day, will offer analysis and advice about the ongoing trends affecting the automotive sector.

International trade shows are always great events and we’d recommend that any proactive technicians take the chance to attend one if you get the chance. The promise of the Italian weather could just be enough to convince the other half to get away for a few days!

BREMBO

Brembo, the leading friction specialist, will be attending Autopromotec for the first time this year, with the launch of a special new product for the aftermarket set to be one of the highlights of the company’s presence in Bologna.

PCL

PCL returns to Autopromotec this year (Hall 19, Stand A41) with an exciting and innovative portfolio of products.

The company will showcase its comprehensive range of tyre inflation and pneumatic equipment alongside other manufacturers of tyres and tyre equipment spread amongst halls 19, 20 and 22.

Headlining PCL’s act  is the brand new ACCURA Forecourt – PCL’s first inflation unit featuring coin/token options. With an option to house standalone compressors the unit can be used whether mains air is available or not. Customers already treated to a sneak preview of ACCURA Forecourt have been impressed with its potential for low life-cycle costs, high flexibility and safe, easy operation.

Meanwhile Nitrogen and the NEXUS generation and inflation solution remain a best-selling option for operators of commercial vehicles. Following a successful year since its launch the innovative NEXUS has become an established name with a reputation for providing cost-effective nitrogen delivery and its world-renowned digital inflation technology, which provides a guaranteed inflation accuracy of ± 0.5%. This enables customers to benefit from superfast nitrogen inflation from their existing air supply without needing to buy, store and handle expensive nitrogen bottles.

The chief advantages of nitrogen’s properties compared to air in a tyre are that it can offer extended tyre casing and rim life along with improved fuel efficiency. More importantly, due to its inert properties, it provides increased safety in high temperature environments.

Other highlights will include the ALG4 high pressure tyre inflator developed especially for truck tyres, and PCL’s ACCURA D12 inflation unit from PCL’s premium tyreshop range, combining advanced and user friendly design with touch screen technology to provide reduced tyre inflation and lifetime costs.
